Multiples Faces :

Parler des Faces sans parler de cette compilation merveilleuse de 2004 est impossible.

 

Les Faces sont nés en 1969 sous les ruines de deux groupes, The Small Faces et le Jeff Beck Group.

 

J'ai déjà parlé du rôle de Steve Marriott parti des Small Faces pour fonder Humble Pie dans ce blog lors d'un article sur ce groupe.

 

C'est à l'initiative de Kenney Jones (le batteur) que le groupe qui comprend encore Ronnie Lane et Ian Mc Lagan, s'intéressea ux transfuges de l'autre groupe, à savoir Rod Stewart et Ron Wood. 

Les Faces , adoubés par la Warner Bros. Records, bénéficient aussi du renom croissant de Rod Stewart qui débute en parallèle sa carrière solo.

Ooh La la  / 1973

 

Puis avec le départ de Ronnie Lane qui se sent étouffé par Rod Stewart, le groupe se meurt avec finalement le départ de Ron Wood chez les Stones en 1975.

Les reformations ultérieures sont de peu d'intérêt, la première caritative en 86, pour aider Ronnie Lane paralysé par sa sclérose en plaque dont il meurt en 97. 

La compilation réalisée par le clavier du groupe , Ian Mc Lagan, s'intéresse aux quatre albums studios auxquels s'ajoutent : morceaux inédits, BBC sessions, singles rares ou promotionnels ... Une mine d'or.

 

 

Et seul un grand taré et malade comme moi peut avoir l'idée de remettre cela chronologiquement !!!
